It's been almost two weeks since the peas went in the ground and there are no signs of life. There are some signs that a squirrel or chipmunk might have dug seeds out. Perhaps all the peas are gone. On the other hand, the first row of beans is doing great! The tomato plants are in their cages and look OK.
Meanwhile the annual effort to have a decent lawn is off to another start. It is good that it has been raining a little every day.
Two surviving blueberry bushes were transplanted for the third time. They were in a sunny place when I planted them but meanwhile the nearby evergreens grew over them. There are thousands of acres of thriving blueberry farms nearby so the soil and climate must be right, but these two bushes look as small as when I first put them in at least five years ago.
All in all, the grocery store does not need to worry about our becoming self-sufficient.
It is so nice to see the plants growing. We have 3 tomato plants we bought from Costco and are waiting for the "cherry tomato" plants to arrive at Costco. D
