There was an ad in the Kalamazoo Gazette from a lady who wanted to buy old watches so I thought of selling Minnie's pocket watch. However, I found some interesting things on various web-sites that changed my mind. Minnie's watch came from a South Chicago jeweler, J. B. Eberhart, who was also the watchmaker for the railroad. His store was at 300006 E. 92nd St.
The works were made by the Columbus Watch Company in 1894. Minnie probably received it as a gift before she was married as it is inscribed "MK". I checked eBay and other sites and there were no other vintage watches shown that had as beautiful face as this watch.
At this point I think it should stay in the family. What do you think?
I think you should post a picture of the watch!

S would prob. want watch as she wears the rings from Laura and I think Emma and never takes them off so I think unless you are destitute you should offer it to one of the great, great grandaughters first. Just my opinion.L.S.
ReplyDeleteI think you should keep the watch in the family and show it to us. D
