Day 3 - Brooklyn sights and smells

After a nice breakfast at the Holiday Inn Express, we went to the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal which is only 2 miles away. We were stopped at the terminal gate by a guard who gave us helpful instructions about how to proceed with unloading luggage and parking tomorrow. The guard was Irish Catholic and had a charming brogue. He was interested to know that our trip tomorrow is part of a Sister of St. Joseph Jubilee celebration.

The route from the hotel to the Cruise Terminal was a little difficult because of one way streets and construction detours so we went back to the hotel and did another run to the Cruise Terminal just to be sure of getting it right tomorrow.

All in all Brooklyn drivers have been patient with us. We only got a couple of toots as we crept along narrow streets looking for street signs. At one point the tooters and we were stuck behind a garbage truck that had to stop and pick up at the curb of each house on the block. We had an opportunity to study each house on that street.
