Monday - Funday

Sister, Phyllis and I went out joy-riding to see the snow in Walker. Phyllis was perfect in her navigation directions. I learned from Toggle in the Doonesbury comic strip that Phyllis only needs to say 59 different phrases to perform her job.

We are learning to obey Phyllis' commands. Even though her command to "turn left" doesn't come across as dramatically as when James Earl Ray says, "TURN LEFT", she means it and we do it.

She guides one into the correct lane for an upcoming exit on the expressway, which was especially helpful in Grand Rapids where some exits are from the left and some from the right. She also gives an expected time of arrival and points out if one is exceeding the speed limit. Best of all, she is a no fault person and when one makes a mistake she calmly says, "recalculating" and works out a way to get back on track. She is a fun person to have on board.

  1. When does James Earl Ray say, "Turn left"?
How did Phyllis get her name?
Can you make her have different voices?
Rachel wants a GPS for her one birthday gift.

  2. The GPS voice sounds like a nice person I used to work with. Phyllis is deceased and I like to think that she is in heaven as sort of a guardian angel. You can choose a voice but the James Earl Ray voice was in the comic strip. I don't think is is really available. N

  4. I am thinking you would want James Earl JONES' voice, not James Earl Ray

  5. I'm glad Phyllis is so good to you. We have Mimi and she guided us on Sunday across back roads from Somersworth to Manchester airport, NH. She sometimes tries to get us to obey with a U turn when we go astray. We love her help. R and H
