Blessed are the poor

I would be more than glad to send money to the government. But, for the first time in my adult life, I don't have to pay a penny in State or Federal income taxes this year. Somehow I feel a little unpatriotic. I'll try to stimulate the economy on my own by shopping although a lifetime of frugality does not bode well for that solution.

We walked past all the gardening things at Costco yesterday. We don't need anything from that department anymore. We definitely don't need home furnishings, we've given truckloads of furniture and household goods away. We walked past the pharmacy, thankfully nothing was needed from that department either although we got a large bottle of Aleve over the counter. We walked past the apparel department, our closets are full. The food department was not appealing either with our current drive toward our weight loss goals. We did buy an enormous package of "bathroom tissue". We can always use that.

  1. You leave me speechless. Angelica P.S. Are you enjoying this warm weather? Now I get it you are masquerading as Amish.

  3. We have had a wonderful string of nice sunny days so we decided to take a ride north this week and there was Costco! We are still well supplied with chicken :)

  4. Atom: Ich finde es richtig, die Güter die man nicht braucht, auch nicht zu erwerben.Es ist auch richtig die nicht mehr benötigten Sachen ab zu geben. Andere Menschen können es vielleicht gebrauchen.
