Getting there...

The scenery on I-80 is breathtakingly beautiful through Pennsylvania and the western part of New Jersey. Wooded hills rise high up to the sky separated by deep valleys and streams. Most memorable was the view of the Delaware River which separates the two States. I don't recall hearing any songs about the Delaware River but there must be some.

On the plus side, I-80 is a freeway, on the minus side however, it has no service areas in which to conveniently refuel the car or buy ice cream. So today we turned off at Stroudsville to get gas and a hot fudge sundae at McDonald's and could not find our way back to I-80 East. Even Phyllis got confused. We finally had to stop the car and ask a native for directions. He spoke in the New York/Brooklyn dialect but his directions were easy to follow and we were back on I-80 in a jiffy.

Phyllis came through for us where it counted however guiding us through a tangle of off and on ramps, toll-ways and toll-bridges that led to our lodging tonight at Hampton Inn on Staten Island. From here it is only 14 miles to the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal where we trust the Queen will be waiting for us tomorrow.
