Did you know that the word "fathom" comes from the old English word meaning "to embrace", (the typical length of a man's ourstretched arms)? We are coming to a shallow place in the ocean that is only 17 fathoms deep, whereas the average depth is over 500 fathoms.
Earlier we passed the place where the Titanic went down. Whew!!
