Survival Stories

Two hurricanes hit here earlier this year and we heard that the beach is narrower by about 6 feet.  We were anxious to see if the little tree we have watched grow for several years was  OK.  It is doing fine.

It seemed like a longer walk from the apartment to the beach this year.  In the picture below you can see Sister's wheels parked to her right.  It rolled pretty well over the crushed shell road but sunk into the sand at the beach so we took the first bench we came to.

The weather is perfect and we are happy to be here once more.

  1. Dear Gulls, so happy that you have arrived safe and sound. Great picture, Sister! Enjoy the warmth and sunshine. We chicks just got back from a short trip to the Ronald Reagan Library and Museum, about 75 miles from home. We spent a couple of nights in a hotel, enjoyed a lecture and book signing(Greg Gutfeld)Monday evening, and a full day touring the library/museum Tuesday. Got home a couple of hours ago. Enjoy #14. Brings back happy memories of our visit. Love, H&R

  2. It's always confusing keeping track of beach erosion and rising oceans. Is the rising ocean eroding the beach or is the eroding beach helping the cause of rising oceans? Kinda like the chicken and the egg argument don't you think? Glad Sister made it to Bench #1. RB
