The waiting game

There is one last inspection before the date can be set for signing all the papers and turning over the keys to the house. The house has passed three tests: water OK, sewer OK, and no termites OK. The inspection we are waiting for relates to whether the house is worthy of the bank's money for the mortgage. Meanwhile our neighbors are waiting to adopt John Deere. They have the book that tells how to take care of him and what other gadgets can be attached to him. I can't let him go until the end because he will be needed here, especially if we get a frost and the leaves start to fall. He loves to suck up leaves but I know he is anxious to go to his new home. His new master knows how to change his oil and all the filters as well as grease all his joints and bearings. He'll also get a new battery and probably a wax and polish job. I know he'll live happily ever after.
